Senior Software Engineer

Software Engineer with over 5 years of proven experience in the analysis, design, construction and delivery of custom software based solutions. This level Software Engineer is responsible for leading implementation efforts and has a passion for technology details and software engineering disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Technology Project Delivery
  • Makes every effort possible to execute and complete assigned projects within the constraints of time, scope, and budget for the project
  • Effectively communicates with both business  and associates the details that support technical decisions made on their projects
  • Provides leadership and participates in the development and delivery of business  solutions by estimating, planning, designing, implementing, and testing custom software applications built on Microsoft technologies
  • Understands, analyzes, and documents business technical environments and business requirements
  • Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems in a way that maximizes business value

• Technology and Software Engineering
  • Has technical expertise in technologies that support our primary project types
  • Educates others on software engineering disciplines (e.g. Test Driven Development, Configuration Management, and Coding Practices)
  • Performs technology/tool evaluations and software technical proof of concepts
  • Educates business s on the value of software engineering disciplines
  • Revises Location3 Media  methodology standards with new and improved practices

• Other responsibilities include:
  • In some cases, assists in recruitment, which includes drawing upon relationships and experience to recommend qualified candidates, interviewing consulting staff candidates and preparing hiring recommendations
  • Represents Location3 Media  values to other associates and business
  • Shares knowledge with others (e.g. updates to Location3 Media  knowledge repositories, internal/external presentations, and postings to public blogs)

Technology Skills and Knowledge
Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience
• Application development from start to finish
• Consistent Full Life Cycle projects
• Stable work history is required
• 3+ years of experience with C#.NET development in an enterprise level environment
• Web development (ASP.NET, Ajax, JavaScript, HTML, and DHTML)
• Middle tier development required (WCF)
• All candidates should have a Computer Science Degree

SEO/Analytics Technician

Location3 Media is looking for an individual to assist us with a variety of technical elements for web analytics and search engine optimization programs. The SEO/analytics technician will handle several tech tasks, including implementing JavaScript pixels, deciphering JavaScript onclick events, implementing 301 redirect s and canonical tags, creating XML sitemaps and more.

Candidates will have a deep understanding of how search engine crawlers read pages and be able to make recommendations for better SEO ranking. Candidates will also have experience with and in-depth knowledge of Google Analytics as well as other analytics providers.

Responsibilities

• Implement JavaScript pixels and ensure proper firing
• Implement image pixels and ensure proper firing
• Identify and fix HTML error codes, such as 404, 304, 401, etc.
• Diagnose JavaScript rendering issues
• Create and decipher JavaScript onclick events
• Create and implement robots.txt files
• Manage SEO elements through various CMS providers
• Implement 301 redirects and canonical tags
• Create XML sitemaps and video sitemaps
• Create RSS and MRSS feeds
• Implement new pages and page layouts on various client websites
• Perform detailed SEO audits, and provide recommendations for improvements
• Answer technical questions for SEO and analytics, and bring new knowledge to the table

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge of Google Analytics, other analytics providers and various hacks for each
• Knowledge of JavaScript, robots.txt files, sitemaps, 301 redirects and canonical tags
• Knowledge of how various tags that can affect way sites are crawled
• Familiarity with various CMS providers
• Familiarity with Google Website Optimizer (not required but a definite bonus)

SEO Internship

The SEO team is looking for an individual to assist with a variety of optimization and link building tasks. In this role, you will learn all angles of SEO tasks from website optimization, external link acquisition to tracking and reporting results. The primary role of the internship will be to research sites related to our clients’ verticals and reach out to them for linking opportunities.

Internship Responsibilities

• Contact a variety of sites with wide-ranging topics and “pitch” to each site in a manner that correlates with that blog topic
• Discuss propositions via both email and telephone with site webmasters
• Negotiate to achieve desired outcome
• Maintain database of websites contacted as well as results achieved
• Report weekly costs and acquisitions
• Report monthly acquisitions
• Report time spent
• Maintain working knowledge of new best practices
